Beaujolais-Villages Rouge

Terriere_BeaujolaisVillages_100.jpgWinery: Château de la Terrière
Cercié, France
Appellation:  Beaujolais Villages
Designation: AOC

In a few words: Very charming during its first summer, it evolves favorably during 2 to 3 years.

Site: From a 2 Ha plot of 70 year old vines, in the newest Beaujolais Cru, Régnié near the hamlet of Siberie (think Siberia - it’s high and COLD!).Decomposed pink granite with a mix of sand and pebbles. The soil is poor with clay, so it is very filtering.

Grapes: 100% Gamay Noir

Fermentation and Aging: 100% whole cluster fermentation with no added CO2; no destemming, which protects the grapes naturally from oxidation. There is a continuous control of the temperatures. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks and foudre.

Notes: Extremely pretty, with beautiful, refreshing aromatics and a beautiful, balanced palate.

Vintage: 2011
