Rinaldi_Figli_Dolcetto_roussot-label.jpgWinery: Francesco Rinaldi & Figli
Region:
Piemonte (Piedmont)
Locale:
Barolo, Italy
Appellation: Dolcetto d'Alba
Designation: DOC

In a few words: This Dolcetto is light on its feet, elegant, and flavorful - without being too big or overbearing.

Site: Rinaldi’s single-vineyard wines sport yellow labels - in this case, from a vineyard near Cannubbio called “Roussot”. Soil is mostly clay.

Grapes: 100% Dolcetto from 50-60 year old vines, selected and hand-picked in the vineyard at the end of September.

Fermentation and Aging: The 10-day fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and, after pumping the wine over the cap and the alcoholic fermentation is over, the new wine is decanted in large capacity Slavonian oak casks.

Notes: A fragrant wine with a dry and delicate taste, with a pleasantly fruity bouquet and a ruby red color. Only about 900 cases produced. This wine must be drunk when still young.
