Passito Bianco "Oro"

Moroder_Oro_label.jpgWinery: Moroder
Region:
Marche
Locale:
Montacuto, Italy
Appellation: Marche

In a few words: Definitely one of the coolest dessert wines I’ve ever tasted.

Site: Grown organically in the winery’s estate vineyards.

Grapes: 100% Moscato Fior d’Arancio

Fermentation and Aging: Part of harvest, dried; part of harvest left on the vine until mid to late December. Two years in barrique.

Notes: Every Contadoro has rows of Moscato planted, to provide sweet temptation for the birds and the boars. The name of this wine - Oro, or "Gold" - is inspired by its golden color with amber-colored nuances. On the nose it offers crazy scents of basil and wild herbs. The taste is sweet but well balanced. This elegant passito could be paired both with salty and sweet flavors. From seasoned or well-aged cheese, to the haute patisserie.
