Locale: Montacuto, Italy
Site: Grown organically in the winery’s estate vineyards.
Grapes: 60% Moscato, 20% Malvasia, 20% Trebbiano Dorato
Fermentation and Aging: Part of harvest, dried; part of harvest left on the vine until mid to late December. Two years in barrique.
Notes: Every Contadoro has rows of Moscato planted, to provide sweet temptation for the birds and the boars. Oro (“Gold”) offers crazy scents of basil and wild herbs. One of the coolest dessert wines I’ve ever tasted.
