Site: Grown organically in the estate vineyards in Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the southeastern section of Montalcino near the abbey of Sant’Antimo; 365 m above the sea level. Limestone soils rich with stony galestro (marl) substrate. Mild winters, hot summers, rainy and humid springtimes and autumns in these limestone and rocky lands create very fragrant wines with intense colors and pleasant acidity and tannins. 5,500 plants/Ha
Grapes: 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino
Fermentation and Aging: Temperature controlled fermentation in steel tanks, 7-8 day maceration with indigenous yeasts. Matured for one year in 500 liter neutral French oak tonneaux, and bottle-aged for 2 months.
Notes: Intense ruby with purple reflections. Soft fruity notes on the nose. On the palate, hints of cherry, with soft tannins and good acidity. Pair with meat, cheese, or light dishes.
