Winery: Brunori
Region: Marche
Locale: San Paolo di Jesi, Italy
Appellation: Lacrima di Morro d'Alba
Designation: DOC
In a few words: The name “Alborada” comes from “alba” which means “dawn”. Lacrima is an incredibly aromatic grape that gives the scent of flowers and especially, roses. The word lacrima means “tear” and in fact, the grape really does “weep” when it is separated from it’s stalk.
Site: Farmed by the family in vineyards leased from friends, about 30km in distance from the winery. Without chemicals, of course.
Grapes: 100% Lacrima
Fermentation and Aging: Vinified in stainless steel fermentors. Racked to cement deposits and fined with eggwhites.
Notes: Ruby red color, with reflections of violet when young. An intense, fruity and floral bouquet with hints of rose and whortleberry. This is a dry, sapid, full bodied and harmonious wine.
Total production is 5,000 bottles.
