AndreaOberto_Barbera_dAlba_100.jpgWinery: Andrea Oberto
Piemonte (Piedmont)
La Morra (Barolo) Italy
Appellation: Barbera d'Alba
Designation: DOC

In a few words: One of the best values available in Barbera - intensely clean, great balance, fine structure and bright fruit. About 11,000 bottles produced.

Site: Grown in the winery’s estate vineyards in La Morra – three small vineyards, all located in the village of La Morra – a total of 2.6 hectares. Soils: Sandy limestone and clay.

Grapes: 100% Barbera

Fermentation and Aging: 60% of the wine is refined in stainlesss steel, and 40% is matured in 2nd passage barriques for 6 months.

Notes: Intense ruby-red turning to light purple hue, due to the aging in barriques. The nose shows oaky notes well-integrated with hints of plum and cherry in alcohol. Warm sensations in mouth thanks to its high alcohol content, with rich toasty notes of ripe fruit and jam. Sour and long finish due to its typical varietal acidity.
