Mancey

les_vignerons_de_mancey_logo.jpgFounded in 1929, Les Vignerons de Mancey is located a few kilometers from Tournus and Saône, in the northern tip of the Mâconnais. The countryside is beautiful: the vines alternate with meadows and woods, on soft, curvaceous hillsides.

Les Vignerons de Mancey consist of 80 wine growers on 140 hectares of vineyards, spread over 8 towns around Mancey. The idea is terroir driven: "Because no two stones are alike” is their motto. More and more of the farmers are utilizing the concept of Agriculture Raisonée, which requires growers to comply with gentler and more natural farming practices, taking into account impacts on the environment and sustainability.

Wines from Mancey can be recognized by their peppery, spicy flavors, with a nice structure of tannins and acidity that offers the possibility of some aging.
